Project 365: It’s Not a Pen, It’s a Sonic Screwdriver! My best friend Corinne came over today and she spied the sonic screwdriver in my office supplies. Being a pen nerd she assumed it was only a pen. Poor unenlightened child. *shakes head* I then had to explain to her what it truly was.
It’s Ten’s sonic screwdriver. It had Ten’s pretty face all over the box when I got it. I cut out the picture of the Tardis and Ten’s face off the box and put it on my bulletin board so I could see them whenever I needed a pick me up. :)

Project 365: Where’s My Free Drink? My best friend Kat and her boyfriend S took me to Huckleberry’s, off Yosemite in Modesto. It only serves breakfast and lunch, and we tried to go on Monday but it was closed by the time we were ready. We went Tuesday morning before I had to be at the airport. This sign greets you as you walk in. lolz.
I had the Riverboat omelette with flapjacks on the side. It was soo good, great comfort food. My only complaint is the waitress didn’t refresh our drinks.
I also wish I were closer to my friends. I love spending time with them. We didn’t hang much outside of school when we were kids. My parents were strict. :/ Now that we’re all “grown up” (whatever that means), hang time is precious. I wish I could find chill people in Vegas like that.

Project 365: Weave Me a Web. My best friend T’s bridal shower was on Sunday. I was able to attend, thankfully. “A Nightmare Before Christmas” is her favorite movie (she’s even got an entire room in the house with everything she collected, and she painted it to match). She had Halloween spiders as table decorations at the shower.

Project 365: (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? My dad has these citrus plants sitting on our back porch. When I feed Simba for the night, I water them as well. They were pretty poor looking until I started doing that. It’s working ‘cause they look a lot fresher and greener now. Anyways, I guess the spillage from the citrus pots somehow let an errant morning glory seed take root. The bush is blooming so nicely. I thought it was a weed until I saw the flowers. I love how - despite being in a tough environment - this plant is growing.

Project 365: Tell Me a Story. At Sahara West in Las Vegas, they have a display case as you walk into the library that changes every month. They are featuring the American Historical Society of Germans From Russia this month. Quite the mouthful but you know me, I’m a sucker for anything historical. I saw this beautiful doll and was immediately taken by it.

Project 365: The Snare That Launched a Thousand Conversations. This is one of my favourite necklaces, a miniature snare drum. I tend to grip my necklaces in mindless reverie during the day, and this just aids and abets my daydreaming.
I bought it at a music store on Sahara. Well, a music store that rents musical instruments and all that. They had different instruments but the snare caught my eye. I might go back and buy the others. I almost walked out with the tenor sax. It was pretty sexy.

Project 365: If Only This Pickle Were Big Enough for Snooki. Also taken on Monday. This is the Johnny McGuire’s official delivery Bug. I used to love eating pickles straight from the jar. I went through this whole phase where I ate them like that, and this is when C was visiting us. So she got into it for awhile there. Photographic evidence exists. When I see Snooks eating hers on “Jersey Shore,” I’m like, “I used to love eating pickles like that!”
