I had meant to turn in Wii Fit Plus at GameStop (which is having a 50% trade-in credit promotion right now, hop on it, gamers!), but then I walked out with these three games. I have no self-control. I also went blouse shopping, and found some decent sweater/collared shirt combinations to wear to work, as well as some new pants.

Super Smash Bros Melee is for the GameCube but the Wii can play it. I might need to buy another GameCube controller though, so we can at least double up when we play. Mario Party 8 is a lot of fun. I’m surprised someone traded it in. It was practically brand-new when I got it. I did buy Scene It! at full price though. I kept beating N ’cause I know all the movies. However, I did sit back when all the questions for “Get Smart” and Anne Hathaway came up. N’s a big fan of hers.

I also put more money down on Epic Mickey. The cashier lady teased me when she saw that I paid with my Disney Visa. She also mentioned Club 33! God, I love how geeky people are at GameStop! I have the best conversations with the people who work there, no matter how old they are, male or female. That’s what keeps me coming back.

Maybe I should get a job there, lol.

I love how the sun tries to break through the clouds. I love being able to take pictures of it too.

It was nasty and rainy on Sunday. And then ForecastFox sent a wind storm warning last night. I woke up this morning and it was overcast, but no rain, no wind.

Suck on that Mother Nature! :P

These are the anthologies that I had to read for my 8 week long World Lit II class. The final is next week already. Half-term classes are hard work, no joke.

I wish I had taken the class sooner though. It was a 200 level class, and as such, the way I write and discuss is definitely senior level. I got a taste of literature from 18th-20th centuries through it which made me appreciate it. Of course, being a lover of 20th century anything, I am partial to the 20th century readings. Most of the readings were of the existentialist nature but that’s good. I hadn’t really been exposed to it.

I know, I’ve railed against the usefulness of composite anthologies in the past. They’re incredibly problematic and oftentimes counterproductive. But they do give you a good basis for literature from its topic. At least it also opens up the unenlightened to works they might not otherwise read.

I am almost hesitant to sell these because I’d like to read the other pieces. But I could use the cash. :(

And don’t mind the awful mess on my bookshelf. It’s always like this. Even when I straighten it up, I end up adding more crap to it anyways. I let it pile up until I can’t stand the mess and then put things away, haha.

I am slowly but surely getting pieces for my future apartment. However, it’s so far in the future that I am nowhere near prepared to get one, lol. I am spacially ready though. I have no more space in this room to feel comfortable, but I’ll be damned if I get rid of anything.

I bought the Cherry Blossom 16-piece dining set from Corelle on eBay. I saw the set at the Corelle outlet with my ma last Christmas. I was like, “Ooh pretty.” My ma’s like, “You want it?” I was tempted to get it right then and there (I would’ve paid for it myself even though my ma likes to buy us stuff if we drool over it in the store), but I told her quite logically, “What would I do with it?”

Then Corelle’s website ran out of stock and I was like, “EEEE!” I bought it on eBay because I was afraid they were gonna discontinue it and I better get my filthy paws on it while I still could. I was wrong; a week after I bought the set, I got an automated email telling me that they had ‘em in stock again. D’oh!

Oh well. They’re pretty, and I can’t wait to use them.

Eventually.

Baby steps, people, baby steps. :)

This is my second haul of fun stuff I bought in the mail.

All of this comes courtesy of ThinkGeek. I swear half my casual wardrobe is coming from their website, lol.

“Violent Before I Played Video Games” is so me. I definitely do not ascribe to the mainstream notion that video games makes you violent. If you already have violent tendencies, video games do not exacerbate your mental illness. “Zombies Were People Too” is a hoodie, and I bought it XL so it’s roomy and comfy. I can’t wait to rock it in public and see the reactions. Zombies are my favourite movie monster, and I cannot wait for the zombie apocalypse. “Rule #2: Double Tap” is from “Zombieland” o’course. GREAT movie.

I like buying my shirts large because then I can lounge around in them whenever I want.

Not pictured is my Tinkerbell watch. I was wearing it to break it in. It came in a huge box for something so slim. I was like, “ooh, it’s the rest of my D23 goodies!” I was wrong haha.

I love buying things over the Internet and getting them in the mail. I remember when I was a kid and sending for things through the mail was so forbidden in my house. My mom used to open my mail, and give me the third degree if I got a package. Now, I’m like, “buy! buy! buy!” But I think I’ve got the shopping bug out of me for awhile. There’s stuff I gotta save up for now.

Anyways, this is some of the stuff I bought online. I’m expecting the rest to filter in the next few days or so. To support The Slants, I preordered “Pagentry” their second album. I loved their first one, so I’m excited for this. I’m waiting for “Live from Royal Albert Hall” to finish before I listen to it though.

I’m kinda glad they waited until “Day & Age” to make a live DVD. Some bands put them out for their first album, but that’s no fun because you only have a few songs to enjoy. By waiting so long, there’s enough to nosh on musically and still feel like you’ve gotten your fill.

Tonight’s entry is a little hurried, just wanting to make my personal deadline. :)

“The Bloody Chamber” was the first book we read for Women & Lit this semester. Because this is an upper-division class, my prof is giving us the option to do a creative project, or write an essay. Pffft. I’d rather do something creative. It’s very rare that classes give you that option. Therefore, I have unofficially planned with my pal M to make a film version of “The Bloody Chamber.” The story, not the whole collection. Maybe if we did a feature length… but I’m jumping the gun here, lol.

I’ve even got the soundtrack prepped:

  1. Opening Sequence: “Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)” by Florence + The Machine
  2. Goodbye Mother: “Dreamboat Annie” by Heart
  3. His Old House & The Deflowerization: “Map of the Problematique (Does It Offend You, Yeah? Remix)” by Muse
  4. Love Theme: “Together” by The Raconteurs
  5. Curiosity Killed the Bride: “With Every Heartbeat” by Robyn
  6. The Lady is Beheaded: “Take a Bow” by Muse
  7. Closing Credits: “Everything is Everything” by Phoenix

I bought a Sony Webbie from Dell’s online store. It’s a combination HD camcorder and still camera. It hasn’t gotten very good reviews, but I’ve always been happy with my Sony products. I’ll give it a go and see what’s what.

I need to get started on the script and get some feedback from M, because it’s due on April 13, lol.

For YEARS, I thought Prince was saying “raspberry meringue,” and not “Raspberry Beret.” lol.

Today, I went to Bath & Body Works for a new scent in a body splash form. I guess they revamped the whole presentation of their products because now it’s a “Fragrance Mist.” I’m not a big fan of perfumes in general. They’re too strong for my already sensitive nose. I have to excuse myself if I smell an overly perfumed/cologned woman or man in public.

I usually go with Sweet Pea, but EVERYBODY uses Sweet Pea, including my ma. I wanted something different. I was sort of torn between Sweet Pea Forever (a new take on the scent), Japanese Cherry Blossom and Black Raspberry Vanilla, and went with the latter.

The saleslady gave me some Sweet Pea Forever in lotion form, and the aroma was lovely. It has apricot or something in it now. I was soo tempted to try it. But I was sold on the Black Raspberry because I love the smell of raspberries. I drink Lipton’s Raspberry Iced Tea like it’s crack, and now I get to wear it. Yay!

My love of raspberries is ridiculous because I’m not a big fan of the fruit. I just love the smell of it. According to Bath & Body Works, it’s a blend of “juicy blackberry, bergamot, and Anjou pear with vanilla orchid and taffeta musk.” BERGAMOTTTT. Reminds me of Earl Grey tea.

Plus, it’s a cool word to say.

My favourite Sunday night pastime: watching Futurama in my pajamas.

Sundays are my favourite days of the week. Not really sure why. Maybe because it reminds me of good times: church and brunch afterwards with the family, then chilling for a few hours until you’re back to the daily grind.

I love them even more now because Sundays are my Fridays and I get Mondays and Tuesdays off. Hell yeah.

I bought a silver D23 membership and just today I got my membership card. Yay!

I’m expecting a few more things but I think they’ll be filtering in:
